A reflection of the nomadic lifestyle of the African culture, Bantu depicts the hugely traditional values of the African tribespeople and commemorates their origin. Bantu people were the first to migrate across Africa, eventually splitting into numerous tribes such as Zulu, Karo, Swahili, Samburu and many more. The bold motifs combined with the raw linen fabric used within this collection reflect the historic patterns used for clothing, jewellery and everyday items. The linear and textured markings created through ceremonial body painting rituals fashion a traditional yet simplistic and modern look, perfectly coinciding with the historic but current spirit of this collection. A palette of paper whites, earthy naturals and dusted blacks fully translate the ethnic mood.
